Starting at a new school can be overwhelming. Maybe your feeling worried about friends, or stressed about your grades, or maybe something at home is bothering you. You are not alone.
Gillian Baldock is the Student Wellbeing Coordinator at MacRob. You can make an appointment to see her and have a chat about any of your concerns, whether related to school or outside issues.
FAM are Year 12 students who have been selected and trained to act as Peer Support Leaders. They run drop-in sessions for assisting students. They provide a great page on tumblr that answers student questions about school and life in general. They also organise student wellbeing events in conjunction with the SRC. Two students are assigned to each form group and they occasionally drop into Form Assembley to talk with students.
SSAYF is a student-led group who meet regularly for discussions and activities relating to matters concerning gender, identity, and sexuality. All students are welcome to attend meetings, regardless of sexual orientation. Some students are experiencing their own feelings about these topics, and others wish to support their friends. Others are just interested.
SSAYF meets weekly at lunchtimes and/or after school, as advertised on the student bulletin and the SSAYF noticeboard. Occasionally, combined MacRob/MHS (SOFA) meetings will be conducted at either school. In Term 3, the group meets on Monday and Friday lunchtimes in room L214.
The library also provides 'SSAYF' as a search term to find LGBTQI resources in the catalogue.
